To the Members ofthe Common Council of the*Citynof South Bend, Indiana:
You are hereby not9fied that under and by virtue of the authority by law vested in me as
Mayor of the Citynof South Bend, of the State of Indiana, a special meeting of the Common
Council of said T City is hereby called to be held at the hour of 7:30 olc�ock P. Me_, or
as soon thereafter as convenient, on Monday evening August 29th., 1932, in the Council Chambers
in said.0ity, for the purpose of receiving and considering Communications and Reports from
Mayor W" Re Hinkle and City Controller George A. Knoblock regarding the Budget for,the Fiscal
year be;inn$ng-January 1st, 1933 and ending December 31st, 1933 and the following ordinances,
to-wit:
".An Ordinance fixing the Tax Levy for the year 1932 for the Municipal Civil City of
South Bend, Indiana"
An Ordinances appropriating Monies for the Purpose of Defraying the Expenses of the
Several.Departments of the City Government of the I Civil City of South Bendt Indiana.,
for the year Beginning January.l., 1933, and Ending December 31, 1933, including all
outstanding Claims and obligations and fixing a time when the same shall,take effect ".'

TO THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
The undersigned Controller of said city respectfully submits the following report of the
variuus estimated amounts Irequiredt in such controller's opinions for each executive departmen
of the city and for other city expenses, together with an estimate of the necessary tates to b
levied for the fiscal year ending December 311, 19334`
The tax levy is based on the official report of the County Auditor showing an assessed yaluatio:
for this city of $149,699s&�o4o 'oo and does not anticipate emergencies or delinquencies.'

The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on
Motion of Councilman Altfeld was referred to the Committee of the Whole, also that a
Public Hearing be held September 19th.1932 at 7 :30 o'clock P.' M. .Motion carried.
