Be it Remembered. that the Common Council of the City of Sm South Bend, Indiarfa; =tmet in the Regular Session in the Council I Chambers in the City Hall , Monday evening May 9th, 1932 at the hour of 7 :45 o'clock P.` M.' All Members present.' President -Nelson.presided. The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and on Motion of Councilman Hull were referred to the Committee on the Inspection. and Supervision of Minutes.' Motion- carried.'. REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of.the-minutes , would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore recommend that the same be approved. I*` W#'! Cripe, Joseph S.' Jaworski, Julius Altfeld, Committee.', South Bend, Ind.' April 11th, 19320 The report was accepted and ordered to be placed on file.` Motion carried.` REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTEST OF SPECIAL MEETING. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee on the Inspection and supervision of the,minutes, would respectfully report that they have ,inspected the minutes of the previous meeting-,of-the Council. and found. them correct. REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE. TO the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred A Petition for intervention and relief in our behalf by some form of regulation in the *taxicab industry whereby we as citizens of this community can hope to make an honest- living:' Respectfully report that they examined the matter, and that in their opinio the said Peti *ion should be Filed in the Records of the City Clerk's Office as a new Taxicab: oLrdinance has been adopted.' John Co" Hiss, Chairman.' The report was accepted by the Councilman.'^ REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred A Petition signed by 57 tax-ft—drivers who are opposed to the new ordinance before the Common Council expecially -to the sectiorr asking for taxi— meters, also that the ordinance should continue which is. now in force.' Respectfully report that they have examined the matter, and that in their-opinion the said Petition should be reported Filed in the Records of the City Clerk' s Office as a new Taxicab Ordinance has been adopted.` John C. Hiss, Chairman.' The report was accepted by the Council. ORDINANCE N0. An Ordinance appropriating the sum of Three Thousand One Hundred and Forty One Dollars (03,141.'00) from the General Fund of the .City of South Bend, Indiana, to the Department of Public Works of said City.' The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and on Motion of Councilman Grzeskowiak was referred to the Committee of the Whole, also that a Public Hearing be held May 23rd, 1932 at 7 :30 o'clock P. M._ Motion carried.' ORDINANCE N0. An Ordinance approving a Lease -and Option agreement between the City of South Bend, Indiana, through its:- -Board of.Aviation Commissioners and the Bendix Aviation Corporation=' The Ordinance was given its first reading by title, its second reading in full and = Uption of Councilman Cripe was referred to the Committee of the Wholb, also that the Aviation .Commissioners be present at.the Committee of the Whole, Atotion carried: NOTION.. ( ORALLY) .1Z 0 Councilman Oakley made a Motion that Councilman Grover Whiteman be made a Member of the Fees and Salaries Committee during the investigation that is being carried on at this time*= This was seconded by Councilman Altf eld.'President Nelson ap p.ointed.Councilman Whiteman on the Committee for Fees and Salaries during the investigation; On Motion of Councilman Oakley the Council adjourned at 9 :00 o'clock P.'
