August 10th, 1931.' REGULAR MEETING.
MINUTES.
Be it Remembered that the . Common Council of the Cityi_of South Bendt Indiana, met in the
Regular Session i-n -the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Monday evening August 10th, 1931,
at 7:45 o'clock P. M. All Members present except Councilman Oakley. President Nelson
presided.' ,The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and om Motion of Councilman Hull were
referred to the Committee on the Inspection and Supervision of Minutes: Motion carried.
REPORT OF THE COME XTTEE ON MINUTES.
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
Your-Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes, wouldz respectfully asqajdx
report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting;of the Council and found tk

In compliance with the provisions of Section 10956 R.' Se' 1926 Burns Indiana Statutes, I
respectfully submit herewith a report of the County Auditor, showing the aggregate assessment
and valuation for taxation for the year 1931 of all taxabl -es, real and personal, including
railroad property in South ]trend ( German and Portage Townships) and the number of taxable polls

department of the city and for other city expenses, together with an,estimate of the necessary,

AmOrdinaace changing the name of certain streets, avenues, Boulevards, Courts and Places
within the City of South Bend, Indiana:

RESOLUTION. INTRODUCED _ BY-COUNCILMAN GROVER D. WHITEMAN.
WHEREAS, the Uniom Trust Company of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is indebted to the
City of South Bend in the amount of Nine Thoupand Nine Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Twenty —one
Cents ($9,91+:121), principal and interest, which amount is owing to the Sinking Fund of said
city by.reason of said Union_ Trust Company having received certain deposits of moneys belonging
to said Sinking Fund, and
WHEREAS, said Union Trust Company is now in the process of liquidation., and
WHEREAS, the Public Indemnity&ompany of New Jersey is surety on the bond of said Union
Trust Compamy for the payments of moneys belonging to said Sinking Fund of the City of ,-South
Bend, on deposit with the said Union Trust Companyi which bond. is in the amount of One Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1001,000:b0) and said Public Indemnity Company of New Jersey has signified,
its intention of paying to the Sinking Fund Commission of the City of South Bend the amount

WHEREAS, said company has requested that the Council of the City of' South Bend adop't a
resolution authorizing the Sinking Fund Commission of the City of South Bend to assign to
said company its-_right;-title and interest to said funds now owing "by said Union.Trust Company

Sinking Fund of said_city.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of South Bend -that upon payment
Public Indemnity Company of-New Jersey to the Sinking Fund Commission of tje City of South Bend,
Indiana, the amount of Nine Thousand IS Nine Hundred Fourteen:Dollars and wenty -one Cents
($9,914#:21), now owing" by the said Union Trust Company to the City of. ,South Bend on account
of Sinking Fund deposits, the' sai& Sinking Fund Commission of the City of South Bend`s Ind* is
hereby authorized and empowered to assign to the said Public indemnity Oompany of New Jersey
all its rightrtitle and interest in andto the amount of Nine Thousand Nine Hundred and
Fourteen dollars and Twenty -one Cents ($9,914 *.21) owing to the Sinking Fund of said Oity by t

said Union Trust Company which- amount includes 9,e82.'09 on deposit and 32.1 interest.
On Motion of Councilman Hiss the Resolution was adopted. Motion carried.`
On Motion of Councilman Jaworski the Council adjourned at 8 :15 o'clock P." M Motion
