MINUTES.
Be it Remembered That the Common Council met in the Regular Session in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, Monday Evening October 13th, 1930 at the hour of 7:35 0 clock P.` M:;
All Members present.' President Fegan presided..The Minutes of the previous meeting were read
and on Motion of Councilman. Hull were referred to the Committee on the Inspection and Super-
vision of Minutes. Motion carried:.
PETITION.

We the undersigned owners of the real estate situated in the City of South Bend, St:'
_Joseph County, Indiana, described as follow., t6-wit:-Lots 13,1-,15 :16,17,15,19 and 20 in the.
South Side Addition, as plated by the Fidelity Land Company, respectfully petition that the ..
same bea re -zoned in accordance with the City Ordinance No.'.2331, approved June 25, 1923: , and
commonly known`as the Zonin Ordinance, from "B Residence" to 110 Commerciak" and "A" Height and

Councilman Nelson the Petition was referred to the City Plan Commission to report back to the

To the Common Council, City of South Bend:'
Gentlemen: Ordinance for change of Zoning Classification of property on E.' Jefferson St.' from
35,to 36th St was -referred to the City Plan Commission was considered at their meeting on
July 2nd and unfavorable action taken.' The Council referred this ordinance back to the City
Plan Commission for reconsideration and at a special meeting July 16th the Commission re— affirrm
its former action and the change is not recommended.' Respectfully.,, D.' Moomaw, Sect:' The report
was accepted by the Council.

Gentlemen: Ordinance for change of zoning classification of property at the Grand Trunk
Ry.' right of way opposite 35th St' as referred to, the pity Plan Commission was considered at
their meeting July 2 and unfavorable action taken: The Council referred this ordinance back to
the City Plan Commission for reconsideration and at a special meeting on July 16th the
Commission re— affirmed its former action and the change is;not recommended. Respectfully, D 40 Moomaw, Secretary. The report was accepted_ by the Council'!
REPORT OF BOARD OF-PUBLIC SAFETY.'
_ October 2, 1930:
To the Common Council:'
In regard to the petitioon referred to this Board cducerning the free motion:. pictures at
2105 Sol MiohSgan Street, I wish to state that the Board instructed me to investigate the
situation, which I did wish to submit the following report: The residentsin that vicinity
insisted that the free motion pictures was a numisanee,_,due to the fact that xx scores of
children would gather about the tent and immediately after the performance would destroy propert
on their way home:' Afier hearing the views of the nearby residents, I m immediately consulted
Mr.' Hardy, the promoter of the affair, and after hearing of the complaints of the citizens, Mr.`
Hardy immediately disbanded the show.` Very truly yours, Wm. P Downes, Clerk, Board of
Public Safety. The report was accepted by the Council.'
