AN ORDINANCE.APPROPRIATING $5,000.00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY KNOWN AS
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC
WORKS PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Works to ensure
the functioning of the Municipal Services Facility Building. These funds are
to provide for the repairing of the Municipal Services Facility roof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, as follows:
SECTION I: The sum of $5,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the year 1978
from the Federal Assistance Grand Fund, commonly known as the General Revenue
Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to be administered by the Department
of Public Works and will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and

RE: Municipal Services Facility Repairs - $5,000
Dear Councilmen:

The attached ordinance requesting the appropriation of $5,000 from the
General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund is for the purpose of effecting roof
repairs at the Municipal Services Facility Building.
This is the second time in the 11 years of the existence of the building
that leaks have developed in the roofing system. It is suggested by the
Department of Public Works that the repair of these leaks on an individual
basis is of greater advantage to the City of South Bend than engaging in a
complete replacement of the roof at this time. Your favorable consideration
is requested.
