GAMMON Clerk ORDINANCE N0. _43 W. ;? r AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,899.50 FROM THE DISCOVERY HALL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR VARIOUS CONSULTING SERVICES TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF AMNISTRATION AND FINANCE. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: Whereas the City applied for and received a planning grant for Discovery Hall from the National Endowment for the Hwnan.ities, the City would now like to expand these funds for consultant work performed at Discovery Hall. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The sum of $2,899.50 is hereby appropriated for the year 197�rom the Discovery Hall Fund of the City of South Bend, Indiana. This appropriation is to be admi-aistered by the Department of Administration and Finance and will be distributed as set forth below: ACCOUNT DESCRIPTION AMOUNT 0260.0 Contractual Services $2,899.50 SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council, approval by the Mayor, and fulfillment of all statutory requirements. NEMETH, Mayor COUNTY -CITY BUILDING Common Council Building Indiana 46601 Dear Council Members: SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 June 7, 1978 219/284 -9742 Discovery Hall Museum was awarded a planning grant in 1977 by the National Endowment for the Humanities for a variety of research projects. The total amount of the grant was $5,799, to be paid to the City by NEH in two installments. The first installment was received by the City and appropriated by the City Council in January of this _year. The second installment, in the amount of $2,899.50, has now been received from NEH and I am requesting that the Council adopt an ordinance ap- propriating these funds to be used for the completion of this grant project. Specifically, these funds are being used for consultant ex- penses, including a half -time research assistant for six months, research trips by staff members and other expenses relating to the purposes of the grant. Should you have any questions regarding this grant, I will be happy to answer them.
