AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF
APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR OF 1979.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH -BEND,
INDIANA:
SECTION I. That from and after the lst day of January, 1979, the maximun
salaries and wages for the following appointed officers and employees of -the City of
South Bend, Indiana., for the year 1979 shall be:

to Teamster Local No. 364 members shall be administered in the following
manner:
A. For the year 1979, a general increase of 55� per hour
is granted as follows:
1. 30G per hour January 1, 1979 through
December 31, 1979, and
2. 25� per hour July 1, 1979 through
December 31, 1979.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

Please find enclosed the proposed salary ordinance for
employees of the City of South Bend for the Calender year 1979.
It is being submitted for first reading July 10, so that second
reading, the public hearing and passage may take place prior
to August 1, as required by Indiana State Statute.
As you review the ordinance, you will note
have been proposed at an increase of 8.6 %, with
employees receiving an increase of $880.00. Yo
note that there are exceptions in the ordinance
on personnel evaluation, job market comparisons

As related to the public last week, those hourly increases
for Teamster employees are based on a two year package, with a
55 cent increase in 1979, distributed on the basis of 30 cents
January 1, 1979 and 25 cents July 1, 1979.
