AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $45,000.00 FROM LOCAL
ROAD AND STREET - SPECIAL DISTRIBUTION FUND TO
PROJECT R & S 7804, IRONWOOD /JEFFERSON IMPROVE-
MENTS, WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET - SPECIAL
DISTRIBUTION FUND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that certain unsafe conditions exist at the intersection of Ironwood
and Jefferson Streets within the City of South Bend; and
In that certain improvements have been proposed to correct these unsafe
conditions; and
In that funds are now needed to pay the cost of construction of these
improvements,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the sum of $45,000.00 be appropriated from the 1978 Local
Road and Street - Special Distribution Fund to Project R & S 7804, as set forth
below:

Dear Councilmen:
The attached ordinance is presented for your review requesting $45,000
from the Local Road and Street Fund for improvements proposed at the
intersection of Ironwood Drive and Jefferson Boulevard.

The improvements proposed will increase the capacity of Ironwood to the
north and the south of its intersection with Jefferson, thereby greatly
reducing the congestion currently experienced at this intersection.
