ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU
OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND
HITE EQUIPMENT, PLYMOUTH, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE
OF A 1978 RUBBER TIRED BACKHOE IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$52,189.00.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
To approve the purchase of a rubber tired backhoe as purchase
is required in the operation of the Bureau of Water.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the contract entered into between the Bureau
of Water of South Bend, Indiana, and Hite Equipment, Plymouth, Indiana,
on the 17th day of April, 1978, pursuant to advertising and receipt of
bids as the purchase of same is required in the operation of the Bureau
of Water, at a total cost not to exceed $52,189.00, is hereby approved
and confirmed.

SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the
mayor.

SUBJECT: Ordinance for the Purchase of a Rubber Tired Backhoe

The Bureau of Water is presenting an Ordinance to the Common
Council which will approve the purchase of a 1978 rubber tired backhoe.
Bids were let pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Indiana
and were found competitive. The Contract was awarded to Hite Equipment, Plymouth
Indiana, by the Board of Water Works Commissioners on the 17th day of April,
1978, as being the lowest and best bid. Total net amount of this purchase is
$52,189.00.
