Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
in the Council Chambers in City Hall, on Monday, September 11, 1967, at 8 :00 P.M. All members were present
except Councilman Muszynski. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin T. Smith, who presided.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 40, SECTION 40 -14
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, 1963, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702
AMENDED, AS
DED THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF

SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.(Location: Cherry & Napier)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance, was Bruce Stewart, Attorney
for Petitioner, South Bend Range Corporation. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to
the Council as favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.'
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962,
AS AMENDED, ALSO KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NO. 3702, THE
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
AS AMENDED (Location: Michigan and Ireland)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mr. Lloyd Taylor, City
Engineer. Speaking in remonstrance, and asking several questions, was Mr. Wilbur Rock, 19765 Ireland Road.
Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO ACCOUNT
Q -25 "REPAIRS OF EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT OF $400.00
AND TO ACCOUNT Q -72, "FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT" IN THE AMOUNT
OF $2,000.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUMS FROM ACCOUNT
Q -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, ALL
IN THE GENERAL FUND.
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. `Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Assistant Fire Chief, R.
Busfield. Councilman Geib made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman
Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Allen made a motion to rise and
report to the Council. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. Time: 8:35 P.M.
