Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, November 14, 1966 at 8:00 P.M. All members were present
except Councilman Laven. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Edwin Thomas Smith, who presided.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 40, SECTION 40 -14 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 1962, ALSO KNOWN AS
ORDINANCE NUMBER 3702, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ON THE 14th DAY OF OCTOBER, 1963,
AND KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND.
(Location: Bounded by Western Ave., Scott Street, N.Y. Central
Railroad & Laurel St.)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. L. Glenn Barbe,Assistarit Director of Urban Redevelopment answered
questions concerning the exact boundaries of the land._ Councilman Geib made a motion for a recess. Councilman
Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. Time: 8 :10 P.M. Reconvened 8:15 P.M. Councilman Hunter made
a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Chairman Smith instructed the members to
rise and report to the Council. Time: 8:19
