COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MARCH 22:,_1965
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, March 22nd, at 8 :05 P.M., with all members present except
Councilman Glass. The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman, who presided.
Chairman Smith introduced the Reverend Steve Whitehead of the Maple Lane Evangelical United Brethren Church who
gave the invocation.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702
(Marine St., Mumford Court, Miami St., Bowman St. and Indiana Ave.)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given
an opportunity to be heard thereon. CouncilmanHuntermade a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as
favorable, Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
(Leer St., Marine St., Mumford Court, Indiana Ave. and Bowman St.)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Palmer made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council
as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried.

( Twyykenham Drive and Vernon St., Leer St., Indiana Ave. and N.Y.
Central RAilroad and Calvert St.)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council
as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.

( Twyckenham Drive, Calvert St., Leer St. and Ewing Ave.)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter _made a motion that the ordinance be held over
for public hearing until April 12, 1965. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion-carried.

This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance be held over
for public hearing until April 12, 1965. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried.

This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance be held over
for public hearing until April 12, 1965. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND
TO THE PRINTING ACCOUNT OF THE OFFICE OF CITY CLERK IN THE AMOUNT
OF $21000.00.
Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance be withdrawn. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL FUND
AND TRANSFERRED TO THE BUILDING DEMOLITION REPAIR AND CONTINGENT
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,500.00.
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Palmer made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council
as favorable. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Palmer made a motion to adjourn,
Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried and Committee of the Whole Meeting adjourned at 8 :30 P.M.
