HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-09-64 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes1?3 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING November 9, 1964 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, November 9, 1964, at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Wise. The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin Thomas Smith, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND THE STANCO MIDWEST SALES CO. FOR THE PURCHASE OF HIAB SPEED LOADER MODEL 177 WITH 18 FEET BOOM LENGTH IN THE SUM OF $4,210.00; This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favor- able. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND THE MEMPHIS EQUIPMENT CO. FOR THE PURCHASE OF REO "M" SERIES 2? TON 6X6 RECONDITIONED TRUCK IN THE SUM OF $4,395.00. This beingthe time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00 TO MOTOR EQUIPMENT ACCOUNT S -722. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO THE SERVICES - CONTRACTUAL ACCOUNTS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,500.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM THE SERVICES - PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,340.00 AND THE REDUCTIONS IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF ANOTHER ACCOUNT, TO -WIT: ACCOUNT L -11. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Geib seconded the motion.
