ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak,,Glass, Smith, and Muszynski. ABSENT: None 105 RFC; ; :AR MEETING AUGUST 31 1964 REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 31, 1964 Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA ". (Location:-1845 Prairie Ave.) Respectfully report that they have examined the.matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Isl Edwin Thomas Smith Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 31, 1964 Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1965, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1965, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS, OF SAID CITY, WO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN AND URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSIONS, BUILDING DEMOLITION, REPAIR AND CONTINGENT FUND, PARK DISTRICT FUND, GENERAL SINKING FUND, HOSPITAL FUND, ART ASSOCIATION FUND AND THE URBAN REDEVELOPMENT FUND: PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS_SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY EMPLOYEES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT ". Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion that Reports of Ways and Means Committee be accepted and the ordinance go to the Council as favorable, as amended. REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: August 31, 1964 Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET THE NECESSARY EXPENSE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1965 ". Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the ordinance of tax levies go to the Council as favorable, as amended. Isl Edwin Thomas Smith Councilman Glass made a motion that the report.be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO, 4685 - -64 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO, 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. (1845 Prairie Avenue) The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. Councilman Geib made a motion to delete the word "Traffic" from the title of the ordinance and that the an be accepted, Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance, as amended, was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4687 - -64 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET THE NECESSARY EXPENSE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1965. Councilman Geib made a motion that the amendments to the ordinance be accepted. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried.by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. The ordinance, as g ®ended, was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. _06 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 31, 1964 NEW BUSINESS: th Councilman Smith made a motion that the September 14th meeting of the Council be cancelled until September 281 1964, so that members of the Council may attend the Indiana Municipal League Convention in Indianapolis. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Szymkoviak seconded the motion.
