Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, March 23, 1964, at 8 :00 P.M., with all members present.
The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin T. Smith, Chairman, who presided.
Councilman Hunter made a motion that Item # 2 on the Agenda be taken up; first. Councilman Wise seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS
ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
(6 Acre triangular tract fronting Riverside Drive)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents mere
given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Mr. Robert J.
Zimmerman, Attorney for petitioners, C. R. Holloway,and Lock Joint Tube Company. Councilman Glass made a motion
that the ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702
(142 So. Meade Street)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents., were given
an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Mr. J. Chester Allen,
Attorney for petitioner, Mr. DeWitt Marshall, Councilman Glass made a motion that the ordinance be held up
until April 13th and that petitioner bring in property owners to express their opinion on zoning the described
property. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to adjourn.
Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried and Committee of the Whole Meeting adjourned at 8 :30 P.M.
