HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-10-64 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes16 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, February 10, 1964, at 8:00 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman Edwin T. Smith, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 (Northwest corner of Linden b College Sts.) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 (142 So. Meade Street) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. J. Chester Allen, Attorney for petitioner, stated that Mr. Marshall DeWitt is hospitalized and asked for continuance until next meeting on February 24th, 1964. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on February 24th. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORD.... INANCE AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN REAL PROPERTY BECAUSE OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, RELIGION, OR ANCESTRY BY CERTAIN OWNERS, SELLERS, RENTERS, LESSORS, GRANTORS, LESSEES, GRANTEES, ASSIGNEES, MANAGING AGENTS, REAL ESTATE BROKERS, REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, LENDERS, AND OTHERS. PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE SOUTH BEND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSION, PRESCRIBING ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND POWERS, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn, Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole Meeting adjourned at 8:07 P.M. ATTEST: APPROVED:
