HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-14-63 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesBe it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers on Monday, October. 14, 1963, at 8:12 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Krueper. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (Southwest corner Belleville Shopping Center) This being the timer heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (Lots 1 through 9 Hamilton Terrace Add). This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance wasRobert Herron, 2235 North Johnson Street. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance remain in the Committee of the Whole until further information is obtained and that the hearing be had at the next regular meeting of the Council. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (3000 block South Michigan) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Robert Zimmerman, representing Wilford V. Walz, Attorney for the petitioner herein and also the prospective purchasers of the property, explained the request for rezoning. Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Land bounded by Washington, Sheridan, Western and Villageway) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion to amend the Ordinance as follows: To exclude therefrom Blocks A, D and the western part of block F to -wit: being generally described as bounded on the east by the rear lot lines of Lots 523 -539 inclusive of the replat of Vlocks A and F, on the west by the west, north -south property line of Block D of Garden Village 3rd Unit, on the north by Washington Street and on the south by the south, east -west property lines of Block D and F.of Garden Village 3rd Unit and Block F of Garden Village 2nd Unit. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Muszynski then made a motion that the Ordinance, as amended go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SEWER DEPARTMENT, $5,000.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, $500.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorably Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSION $10.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard therenn. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go tb the Council as favorable. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FUND, $150.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion.
