HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-22-63 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING REGULAR MEETING COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING JULY 22, 1963 577 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, on Monday, July 22, 1963, at 8 :18 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Tellson. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (The north 12 feet of Lot 154 in Horne and Dunn's 1st Sub.) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Glass made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE The next three items on the agenda refer to land in the same area, the same being Lots 1, 2, 3, 19, 20 and 21 of Lincoln Plaza, and the President asked the Members of the Council for their approval to treat the three Ordinances as one during the public hearing. It was agreeable with the Council and the Attorney representing the petitioners. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Lots 1, 2, 3, 19, 20 and 21 in Lincoln Plaza) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing , proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Edward Olczak, Attorney for petitioners. Mrs. LeRoy Allen, 125 West Marion Street asked what use was being proposed for said land. Speaking in opposition to the proposed ordinances were "George Frepan, 1415 North Chicago Street; Casimer Manuszak, 3711 Lincolnway West; Earl Hartman, 1414 North Sheridan; Roman Kominkiewicz, 3719 Lincolnway West; Stephanie Zrobek, 1504 North Sheridan; Mrs. Robert Class, 1604 North Sheridan; Mrs. Henry Matve, 1421 North Chicago: Mr. Olczak spoke in rebuttal. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinances go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Land bounded by Sheridan, Gladstone, Ford and Sample) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, _proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to bb- heard "thereon:. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Land bounded by Edison, Lombardy Drive, Sample and Meadow Lane) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Land bounded by Summit Drive, MayflowerScenic Drive and Mayfair Place) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorab Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carded. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to ajourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion.
