Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, July 15, 1963, at 7:07 P..M., with all members present except Councilmen Tellson
and Glass.
The Clerk read the call for Special Meeting, which reads as follows:

CITY OF SOUTH BEND
CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING
To the President of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Gentlemen:
You'are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Mayor of the City of South
Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet in
the Council Chambers, in the City Hall at the hour of 7:00 P.M., on Monday, July 15, 1963, for the purpose of acting
upon the following:
AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1964
The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice
on each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Call.for Special Meeting be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Coleman)
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Coleman, Kruep.er, Lehman and Muszynski.
ABSENT: Councilmen Tellson and Glass.
COMMUNICATION
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
I, the undersigned, Frank J. Bruggner, Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as required by Chapter 107 of the
Acts of 1959, hereby fix the maximum salaries for the herein named appointed officers and employees of the City of
South Bene, Indiana, beginning January 1, 1964, and continuing thereafter until duly changed, as per:attached'-
grdinance,:.- and.,request.that such maximum salaries be approved by the Common Council.

Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Coleman seconded
the motion. .Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE YEAR 1964
The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the
Ordinance be set for public hearing on July 29, 1963. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Special Meeting of the Council, Councilman Lehman made a motion to
adjourn. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Special Meeting of the Common Council adjourn
at 7:26 P.M.
