ORGANIZATION MEETING
JANUARY 7, 1963
Be it r0membered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall on Monday, January 7, 1963, at 7:39 P.M., with all members present. The meeting waa called to order by
Mayor Frank J. Bruggner, who stated that he was calling the meeting to order as provided in Article IL, Section 21,
of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski.
Mayor Bruggner asked for nominations for the office of President of the Common Council.-
Couuncilman Muszynski made a motion to nominate Joseph T. Kroll for President of the Common Council.
Councilman Lehman Seconded the motion. Councilman Glass m6ved that the nominations be closed. Councilman Ladewski
seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Ladewski moved that the Clerk be instructed to cast a unanimous
ballot for Mr. Kroll for President of the Common Council. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Mayor Bruggner congratulated Mr. Kroll upon his election and presented him with the gavel.
President Kroll then presided. He thanked the Councilmen for their cooperation during the preceding year and asked
for their continued support.
Councilman Lehman nominated Councilman Tellson for Vice President of the Council. Councilman Glass seconded the
motion. Councilman Glass moved that the nominations be closed. Councilman Seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Lehman moved that the Clerk be instructed to cast a unanimous ballot for Councilman Tellson for Vice
President. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Lehman made a motion to adjourn. Councilman
Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Organization Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 7:44 P.M.
