HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-26-62 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesW6 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 26, 1962 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers on Monday, November 26, 1962, at 8:13 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4381 - - -61 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT AND OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK $13,400.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Chief Harmon explained the items under the Police Department; Chief Andrzejewski explained the items under the Fire Department and Mrs. Freda G. Noble, City Clerk, explained her request for transfer of monies. Councilman Lehman made a motion to delete the word "fund!' wherever it appears in the title. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Ladewski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. The Chairman announced that the Committee of the Whole had met prior to the meeting and wished to report the Elec- trical Inspection Ordinance out of committee favorable, as amended, and set it for public hearing at the next meet- ing (December 10, 1962). Also, the Resolution concerning presentation of Resolutions which had been in the Committee of the Whole, was dis- cussed in the Committee of the Whole, and reported favorable. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole Meeting adjourned at 8:21 PM; ATTEST: CLERK APPROVED: CHAIRMAN
