HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-24-62 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesJ 0 i' COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1962 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, September 24, 1962, at 8:09 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (North side of Linden between Wilber and WAlnut) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance were Herbert Barham, 1423 Linden and Paul D. Clark, 1321 Linden Avenue. A communication was read by the Clerk from Mr. Barham and Mr. Clark protesting the rezoning. Mr. Kerestery, 1501 Linden Avenue also remonstrated. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as unfavorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Jackson Road between Miami and Ireland) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance was Howard Neitch, 18866 Jackson Road. Those also heard speaking in favor of the Ordinance were Andrew Place, and' Alph- Newman Councilman Krupper made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Florence Street between Brookfield and College) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Maple Lane School) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Krueper made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion.
