The meeting was called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Coleman, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski. Absent: None REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES To the'Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the Minutes, would respectfully report that they have inspected the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. PETITION Petition of Jerome Miller to rezone land at 630 East Colfax Avenue. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Planning Commission. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL BUDGET - OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1963, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1963, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPRO- PRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS OF SAID CITY, TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN AND URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSION, BUILDING DEMOLITION, REPAIR AND CONTINGENT FUND, PARK DISTRICT FUND, GENERAL SINKING FUND, HOSPITAL FUND, ART ASSOCIATION FUND AND THE URBAN REDEVELOPMENT BOND FUND: PROVIDING THAT SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES; RE- REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE.(CONTINUED) PEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE, AS AMENDED. F�4 7 6 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 27,, 1962 NEW BUSINESS Councilman Lehman moved to recognize Mr. Verner L. Lane for the fine job he has done as Building Commissioner, and further to thank Mr. Lane for the time and effort spent on revision of the Building Code and working with the Council for its passage. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Lehman made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
