COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING
AUGUST 13, 1962
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall on Monday, August 13, 1962, at 8:07 P.M., with all menbers present.exeept
Councilman Muszynski. The meeting wag called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (1.4 acres on Rose Street)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given
an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the proposed Ordinance was James Brattina, the owner of the
subject property.
Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the,Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE REDEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT CAPITAL FUND - $195,789.76.
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an
opportunity to be heard thereon. The following were heard: Miss Virginia Guthrie, Executive Secretary of the
South Bend Civic Planning Association;, Mr. Henry Sucher, Director of Redevelopment and Ray Andrysiak, City Engineer,
Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ELECTRICAL
DEPARTMENT FUND - $570.00
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an
opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorab
Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE
NO. 3702, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED (2800 Block S. Michigan)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were -given
an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was John Hartman, one of the
petitioners.
Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER
WORKS AND THE INDIANA EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF
A HOUGH MODEL H50B, 4 -WHEEL DRIVE PAYLOADER FOR THE SUM OF $12,599.00
This being the time heretofore set.for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given
an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable
Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Coleman made a motion to ad-
journ. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at
8:55 P.M.
