HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-25-61 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 1961 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, on Monday, September 25, 1961, at 8:06 P. M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Eddy Street between Sorin and Campeau), AS AMENDED This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance be held in Committee until the next regular meeting of the Council on October 9, 1961. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Northeast corner of Bendix Drive and Crumstown Avenue) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Milton Kouroubetis was heard. Councilman Kroll made a motion to table the Ordinance. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Broadmoor Swimming Pool, Inc.) This being the time heretofore set fore- public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking against the Ordinance was Charles Evans. Speaking in favor,of the Ordinan was Mr. F. Gerard Feeney, Attorney, representing the petititoners. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Otdinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #3702, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL ON THE 13th DAY OF JUNE, 1949 (West side of Olive Street North of Lincolnway West) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. George Eichler, Attorney for petitioners, was heard. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. There followed some discussion and Councilman Coleman withdrew his motion. Councilman Kroll withdrew his second to the motion. Councilman Coleman then made a motion to table the Ordinance until the next regular meeting of the Council on October 9, 1961. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried, and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
