HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-24-61 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes331 COMMITTEE OF_TH Be it remembered that the Committee of the Whole oL.the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, July 24, 1961, at 8:06 P.M., with all members present except Councilman Lehman. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Dorothy G. Scheer, Deputy City Clerk, in the absence of :Councilman Lehman. Councilman Kroll moved that Councilman Ladewski be named Acting Chairman of the Committee of the Whole. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Ladewski then took the chair and proceeded with the business before the Committee of the Whole. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Hickory Road North of McKinley) This�.being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the proposed Ordinance was Mr. Nicholas P. Cholis, Attom ey for petitioners. He also stated that Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dockery, petitioners, would, in the future, execute a joint easement of right -of -way to the Elks Club on to Hickory Road at the Northern end of said real estate. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Hickory Road North of McKinley) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Since the Ordinance was a companion Ordinance to the Ordinance above, no one was heard. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen second the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (NE CORNER IRONWOOD DRIVE AND EDISON ROAD) (11 acres more or less) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Richard J. McDonald, attorney for petitioners, was heard. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion.
