HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-23-61 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 23, 1961 287 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambars, City Hall, on Monday, January 23, 1961, at 8:12 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE PROJECT EXPENDITURES ACCOUNT FUND (URBAN REDEVELOPMENT BOND FUND) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Miss Virginia Guthrie of the Civic Planning Association was heard. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN 1960 GENERAL STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND ($372,450.67) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorab: Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT $1,420.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SOUTH BEND - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BUILDING AUTHORITY This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. The Members of the Building Authority had received an invitation from the Council to attend this hearing. Present at the meeting were the following: Eugene Pajakowski, President; Robert Fischgrund, Secretary, George Coquillard, Treasurer and John Woolverton, Member; (These gentlemen are all Commission- ers). Also present was Mr. John McIntyre, Trustee. Councilman Coleman asked that the Capital Improvement Committee of the Council meet with the Members of the Building Authority. Councilman Kroll requested.-the BuildingAuthority to furnish copies of the minutes of their meetings to members of the Common Council. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Krueper made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motiog carried and the Committee of the Whole Meeting adjourned at 8:44 P.M.
