HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-28-60 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 28, 1960 273 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, November 28, 1960, with all members present except Councilmen Allen and Tellson. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE (700 Block Portage) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Coleman made a few remarks and Louis Anderson, Attorney for petition replied to him. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the matter be set over until December 12, 1960. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE (1301 N. Michigan Street) This being the time heretofore s (3t,for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Attorney F. Jay Nimtz, spoke for petitioners. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE OFFICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY - OFFICE OF THE BOARD This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorabl Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN STREET AND TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT $5,000.00 This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE SOUTH BEND - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BUILDING AUTHORITY. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion.
