NOVEMBER 2, 1960
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, on Wednesday, November 2, 1960, at 7:30 P.M., with all members present except Councilmen Glass
and Muszynski. The meeting was called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided.
The Clerk read the Call for a Special Meeting as follows:

To the President and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Gentlemen:
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by law as Acting Mayor of the City of
South Bend, in the State of Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet
in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., on Wednesday, November 2, 1960, for the
purpose of acting upon the following:
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 4320 - - -60, BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
A NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THE WATERWORKS
SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
AND
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 4321 - - -60, BEING AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE
ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONS TO THE WATERWORKS OWNED
AND OPERATED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
REVENUE BONDS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST THEREOF, AND MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH
The Chief of Police or any member of the Police Force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on
each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Special Meeting.

The within call came to hand this 29th day of October, 1960, which Iserved by reading the same to each Councilman,
upon the date designated, as follows:

Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Call be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion.

ORDINANCE NO. 4345 - - -60
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4320 - - -60, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND"
The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Lehman made a motion for

suspension of rules. Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays,
2 absent (Councilmen Glass and Muszynski), the same being a unanimous vote of those members present at said meeting,
said number being more than two - thirds of the members elect of said Council.
The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen
Glass and Muszynski), the same being a unanimous vote of those members present at said meeting, said number being
more than two - thirds of the members elect of said Council.
ORDINANCE NO. 4346 - - -60
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 3, 6 and 12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4321 - - -60,
ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF
EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONS TO THE WATERWORKS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND,, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS
TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST THEREOF, AND-MATTERS CONNECTED THEREWITH"

suspension of rules. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays,
2 absent (Councilmen Glass and Muszynski), the same being a unanimous vote of those members present at said meeting,
said number being more than two- thirds of the members elect of said Council.
The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen
Glass and Muszynski), the same being a unanimous vote of those members present at said meeting, said number being
more than two- thirds of the members elect of said Council.
There being no further business to be considered at the Special Meeting, Councilman Lehman made a motion to adjourn.
Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Special Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at
8:28 P.M.
