Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City* of South Bend, In met in the Committee of the Whole, on
Monday, May 23, 1960, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, at 8:45 P.M., with all members present except Councilman
Muszynski.. The meeting was called to order by Councilman T. W. Lehman, Chairman, who presided.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR
SERVICES RENDERED BY THE WATERWORKS SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
Public hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
Howard Goodhew, President of the South Bend Civic Planning Association, asked questions which were answered by
Mr. G. G. Skelton and Mr. James Dincolo, Certified Public Accountants,. who were retained by the South Bend Water
Works.
Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF EXTENSIONS AND ADDITIONS
TO THE WATERWORKS OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING
THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST THEREOF, AND MATTER CONNECTED
THEREWITH.
Public hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Glass seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE BUSINESS OF INSTALLING AND SERVICING TELEVISON
EQUIPMENT IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND; TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND
ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF
THE TERMS THEREOF
Public Hearing was had on this Ordinance. Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon.
Paul Schwertley, Attorney representing the proponents explained the Ordinance. Councilman Allen.made a motion that
the Ordinance be continued in the Committee of the Whole until the next regular meeting of the Council on June
13th. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Glass made a motion to
adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of the Whole meeting adjourned
at 9:32 P.M.
