HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-23-60 Council Special Meeting MinutesBe it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session in the Office of
the Mayor in the City Hall, on Saturday, April 23, 1960, at 10:20 A.M., with all members present except Councilmen
Tellson and Lehman. The meeting was called to order by President Joseph T. Kroll, who presided.
The Clerk then read the call for the Special Meeting.

CALL FOR SPECIAL MEETING
To the President and Members of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Gentlemen;
You are hereby notified that under and by virtue of the authority vested in me by Law as Mayor of the City of South
Bend, Indiana, a Special Meeting of the Common Council of said City is hereby called to meet in the Office of the
Mayor in the City Hall, at the hour of 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, April 23, 1960, for the purpose of the following:
ALSO:
TO ACT ON A RESOLUTION TO EXCLUDE SOUTH BEND FROM THE EASTERN STANDARD TIME ZONE
FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AN INSPECTION TOUR OF THE PROGRESS OF THE FEDERAL HOUSING PROJECT AT WESTERN
AVENUE AND TAYLOR STREET
The Chief of Police or any member of the Police force is hereby directed to forthwith serve a copy of this notice on
each and every member of the Common Council and make due return of such service of said Call for Special Meeting.

Councilman Allen made a motion that the Call for Special Meetirg be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Krueper
seconded the motion. Motion. carried.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Coleman, Glass, Krueper and Muszynski
ABSENT: Councilmen Tellson and Lehman
The Clerk then read the Resolution in its entirety.
Councilman Allen made a motion to amend the third paragraph of the Resolution to read ",six months" instead of
"seven months". Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Councilman Muszynski made a motion for a five minute recess. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carrier
RECESS at 11:05 A.M.
The meeting being reconvened at 11:20 A.M, and Councilmen Tellson and Lehman now being present, the Roll Call now
shows all present, none absent. Councilman Coleman moved for Adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Allen seconded
the motion. Councilman Krueper moved for a roll call vote-on the adoption of the Resolution. Upon Roll Call, the
Resolution was adopted by a vote of 3 ayes, I nay (Councilman Glass).
Cbuncilman,Glas,§ made.-a motion to adjourn the meeting and to accompany Mr. Jesse Dickinson on a tour of inspection
of the Federal Housing Project at Western Avenue and Taylor Street. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion
carried and the meeting adjourned at 11:22 A.M.
