HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-28-60 Council Committee of the Whole Meeting MinutesCOMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING MARCH 28, 1960 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the Whole, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, on Monday, March 28, 1960, at 8:06 P.M., with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman T. W. Lehman, who presided. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Real estate involved located on Wi.11iams'Street and Portage Avenue) This being the time heretofore set for Public Hearing on the above Ordinance, Louis Anderson, Attorney for Petit asked leave to withdraw the Ordinance. Councilman Coleman then made a motion that the Ordinance be withdrawn. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ordinance withdrawn. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (Ryer St. at Lincolnway West.) Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance.. Speaking in favor of the Ordi was Robert K. Rodibaugh, Attorney for petitioner, Hartman Builders, Inc. Mr. Robert Wisner, 122E Ryer Avenue, filed a petition remonstrating against the passage of the Ordinance, said petition contained signatures of thirty -three families in the neighborhood. Councilman Muszynskd made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen.seconded the motion. Councilman Kroll asked for a : roll call vote. Upon roll call the ordinance was voted to go to the Council as favorable with a roll call of 5 ayes, 4 nays (Councilmen Kroll, Ladewski, Coleman and Krueper. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN 1959 GENERAL STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND $585.00 Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilna n Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM $20,000.00 f Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Ordinance. Councilman Muszynsski made a mot that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion.
