REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE: To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1959 FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion it should be reported favorable as amended, as follows: General Fund by striking 1.66 and inserting 1.654; Street and Traffic Fund by striking .02 and inserting .00; Park Maintenance Fund by striking .31 and inserting .235; City Plan Commission by striking .022 and inserting .016; Urban Redevelopment Fund by striking .03 and inserting .0285; Total by striking 2.609 and inserting 2.5005. /s/ G. The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays, as follows: Councilman Korpal, aye; Councilman Carr, aye; Councilman Tellson, aye; Councilman Christman stated that he felt that while the Council had worked long and hard to make cuts in the budget, that additional cuts could have been made. Nevertheless he would vote aye; Councilman Kroll, aye; Councilman Glass, aye; Councilman Hahn, aye; Councilman Erler, aye; Councilman Muszynski, aye. ORDINANCE NO. 4242 - -58 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX LEVY FOR THE YEAR 1959 FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes (Councilmen Korpal, Carr, Tellson, Christman, Kroll, Glass, Hahn, Erler and Muszynksi, and O nays. RESOLUTION RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND WHEREAS, Frank Bruggner, esteemed Controller for the Municipal City of South Bend is celebrating his sixty- seventh birthday this date, and WHEREAS, Frank Bruggner has worked expeditiously, diligently and efficiently for and on behalf of the Municipal City of South Bend in his capacity as Controller, and WHEREAS, through his assistance and services the tasks and duties of the Common Council and of the adminis- tration of the City of South Bend have been lessened considerably, and WHEREAS, the members of the administration of the City of South Bend, including the members of the Common Council, are indebted and grateful for these services which have been of benefit to the entire community, and WHEREAS, it is our desire to congratulate Frank Bruggner on his sixty- seventh birthday and to wish him many more years of health and happiness and to express our appreciation to him for the civic services performed on behalf of the community, IT IS, THEREFORE, RESOLVED, that Frank Bruggner be and he is hereby congratulated on his sixty- seventh birthday and it is further RESOLVED that this Council wish him many more years of service to the City of South Bend, and it is further RESOLVED that we express our appre- ciation and gratitude for the civil services performed by Frank Bruggner. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that from and after the passage, attestation and signature by the Clerk and 60 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 25, 1958 I presiding officer of the Council, that this resolution become effective and a copy be delivered to Frank Bruggner.
