Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Council Chambers in
City Hall on Monday, Apri1:.22, 1968 at 8:25 P.M., with seven members present, (Councilmen Laven, Allen,
Craven, Reinke, Szymkowiak, Palmer, Zielinski), two absent, (Councilman Grounds and Wise). The meeting
was called to order by President Laven, who presided:

ABSENT: Councilmen-Grounds and Wise.
REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON MINUTES
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
Your Committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would respectfully report that they have
examined the minutes of the previous meeting of the Council and found them correct. They therefore
recommend that the same be approved.

Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN ACCOUNT P -37
"OTHER SUPPLIES11 OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,200.00 AND THE TRANSFER OF THE SAME FROM ACCOUNT
P -722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT ", ALL BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND ".

REPORT OF AREA PLAN COMMISSION'
April 18, 1968

Gentlemen:
The attached petition of Charles Coussena, et al, to rezone the property in the 2900 block of Corby Blvd.
from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area
District was legally advertised under date of April 6 and 13 and given public hearing on April 16, 1968.
The following action was taken:
After due consideration it was moved, seconded and carried that the ordinance
and site development plan be recommended favorably to the Common Council with
the condition that the screening be composed of 3 -4 foot high evergreens.
Attached hereto and made a part of this report are the minutes of the meeting as they pertain to this
petition.

The Report of the City Controller for the month of March, 1968 was submitted to the Council; each
Councilman having received a copy of the report prior to the meeting. There 'being no objection the
report was accepted.
PETITIONS
The undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the South Bend Common Council to
amend the Zoning Ordinance of South Bend, Indiana, as hereinafter requested, and in support of this
application the following facts are shown:
1. The property sought to be rezoned is located at:
The North side of Ireland Road, beginning approximately 650 feet East of the East line of U.S.
Highway 31 and extending approximately 750 feet along Ireland Road; and having a depth of
approximately 610 feet to the South line of Walter Street.

3. A legal description of the property is as follows:

The undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application and petition the Common Council of the City of South
Bend to amend the zoning Ordinance of said City as hereinafter requested, and in support of this application,
the following facts are shown:. ;
1. The property sought to be rezoned is located at 411 Sommers Street, South Bend, Indiana.
