SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 25. 1968
Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in Special Session
in City Hall on Thursday, January 25 at 8:00 A.M., in the Council Chambers. The meeting was called
to order by Robert 0. Laven, President, who presided.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT Councilmen Laven, Allen, Craven, Reinke, Grounds,
Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski
ABSENT None
The meeting was called for consideration of the following Ordinance:
ORDINANCE NO. 4975 -68
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
AUTHORIZING THE MAKING OF A TEMPORARY LOAN FOR
THE GENERAL FUND AND THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF
WARRANTS OF THE CITY FOR SUCH PURPOSE.
The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made
a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Craven seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll
call vote of 9 ayes, (Councilmen Laven, Allen, Craven, Reinke, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer
and Zielinski. Public hearing was held on the Ordinance at this time. Speaking in favor of the
Ordinance was James A. Bickel, City Controller. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance
be given third reading and a roll call vote taken at this time. Councilman Craven seconded the motion.
Motion carried. The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes,
(Councilmen Allen, Laven, Craven, Reinke, Grounds, Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer and Zielinski).
There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Reinke made a motion to
adjourn. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. Time: 8:32 A.M.
