Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Committee of the
Whole in the Council Chambers of City Hall on Monday, January 22, 1968 at 8:00 P.M., with all members
present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman William W. Grounds, who presided. Chairman Grounds
introduced Reverend Stephen Kalabanty of Memorial Presbytarian Church, who gave the invocation.
ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE
NO. 3702 AS HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED AND THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA CHAPTER 40, ET SEQ.,
AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON
COUNCIL BY ORDINANCE NO. 4608. -63 (Location: 1323 N. Ironwood)
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents
were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was David Kessler,
owner of the property sought to be rezoned. Councilman Allen made a motion that the Ordinance go to the
Council as Favorable. Councilman Craven seconded the motion.. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Chairman Grounds instructed the members
of the Committee to rise and report to the Council. Time: 8:14 P.M.
