Neighborhood (NNN) Community Room

715-721 Harrison Ave - Single Family Homes,
Kathy Schuth
Active since 1974 and currently led by Kathy Schuth, NNN Inc. is a
non-profit Community Development Corporation (CDC) dedicated
to preserving the neighborhood and increasing the availability of
housing.
908-910 Portage Ave - Portage Place, Mike Keen
Originally built in and around 1920 and abandoned in 2012, the
former Ward Baking Company building has been rescued and fully
renovated by Mike Keen, Managing Partner of Hometowne
Development LLC. Now leasing small commercial spaces, Portage
Place is growing into a vital commercial node within the
neighborhood.
The Birthday Chair - Mike Keen
Built in 2019, The Birthday Chair is a playful project intended to
change the perception of the neighborhood and inspire incremental
growth within the community.
707 Rex Street - Pre-Approved Duplex, Tom Bard
This is the first non-subsidized duplex in the neighborhood since
the 1940s. After relocating from Portland OR, Tom Bard built this
home to diversify housing options in the neighborhood.
821 Cushing St - NNN Quadplex, Kathy Schuth
This 4-unit rental building is part of NNN Inc.’s decision to build
multifamily rental units in addition to traditional homes for income
qualified sale.
907 Portage Ave - Portage Ave Tiny Homes, Mike Keen
These tiny homes are built using the New Energy Homes high
performance building envelope which is ~70% more energy
efficient than standard construction. They have thin film solar panels
glued to the metal roof.
701 Harrison Ave - Duplex + ADU, Kathy Schuth
This 2-unit rental building is part of NNN Inc.’s decision to build
rental units in addition to traditional homes for income qualified sale.
Increasing the diversity of available units (i.e. rental vs for-sale)
supports the mission of housing accessibility in the neighborhood.
722-728 Harrison Ave - Pre-Approved Single Family
Homes, Tina Patton
Cross Community, Inc., is a non-profit Community Development
Corporation (CDC) that provides affordable housing options and
financial literacy support for aspiring homeowners. As part of that
effort they’ve partnered with Kingdom Life Christian Cathedral to
both rehab and construct new housing in the neighborhood.
620 Sherman Ave - Sherman Duplexes, Jordan
Richardson and Tony Ruiz
The combined efforts of Jordan Richardson and Tony Ruiz, Inner City
Development LLC is a small-scale developer that is committed to
community-first projects, equitable homeownership, and
sustainable neighborhood growth.
803 Cottage Grove Ave - House + ADU, Willow Wetherall
Willow Wetherall originally moved to the neighborhood to purchase
a house rehabbed by NNN Inc. As a member of an inter-generational
household, she recently purchased two additional houses next door
to renovate with her mother and daughter.
