PURPOSE OF REQUEST:
This budget request is for $180,000 for the design of the College Street Improvement project consisting
of street paving, raised intersection and sidewalk replacement.
SPECIFICS:
The budget request is for the design of College Street Improvement from Lincolnway West to Linden
Avenue. The proposed project includes a variety of pedestrian, roadway, and streetscape improvements
along the College Street and Lincolnway corridors. Work will include design of new sidewalks, curbs, ADA -
compliant curb ramps, drainage enhancements, and street lighting upgrades along the east side of College
Street between Lincolnway West and Linden Avenue and on the south side of Lincolnway West from
College Street to Wilber Street.
The project will be done in coordination with the Coal Line Trail Phase III project and will link Coal Line
Phases II and III. Both this project and the Coal Line Phase III project were included in the Kennedy Park
Neighborhood Plan.
It is requested that the Redevelopment Commission approves $180,000 from River West TIF for the design
of the College Street Improvement project. The River West TIF will be reimbursed by the proposed 2026
River West Neighborhood Bond if it is fully approved.
Staff recommends approval.
