LANDMARK APPLICATION 310 West Monroe Street Ord# 10508-17 04/20/170 (Audio Position:00:31) The staff report was presented by: Ross Van Overberghe, Historic Preservation Administrator EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Olivet AME/Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church property meets the criteria for landmark designation in at least four areas. 1) Its character, interest, or value as part of the development, heritage, or culture of the City of South Bend or St. Joseph County, the State of Indiana, or the United States: 2) Its embodiment of elements of architectural design, detail, materials, or craftsmanship which represents an architectural characteristic or innovation; 3) Its educational value; 4) Its suitability for preservation; Chris Derickson, Pastor, Zion Hill Missionary Church, appeared in person in support of the landmark designation CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND ST. JOSEPH COUNTY | HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Page | 2 Date of Meeting Alma Powell, 52095 Carriage Hills Dr, spoke in support of the landmark designation George Garner, 911 E Wayne, spoke in support of the landmark designation Todd Zeiger, 321 W Wayne St, spoke in support of the landmark designation Upon a motion by Michael Skaggs, seconded by Karen Joseph, and carried by vote of 6-0, the Historic Preservation Commission forwards the landmark designation with a positive recommendation to the Council. Roll was called. May 18, 2026, minutes (Audio Position: 0:17:41) Upon a motion by Michael Skaggs, seconded by Andrew Fowler, and carried by vote, the minutes from the May18, 2026 Historic Preservation Commission are approved. b.
