to present check to
H01\'\,T DR FLIGHT at the rescheduled dav and time of
July 2 2013 k 7:04 m due to rain.
Joe Hart of the South Bend Silverhawks will present a check to Bob
Meyer, Director of HONOR FLIGHT-Fort Wayne from the money raised at
the June 6t'' D-Day Event held at Coveleski Stadium. The event held on June
6"' raised over $4,000 for the single day event.
Joining Mr. Hart will be Retired USN Lt. Commander Robert L. Miller
Sr., Walter Still of the US Army 3rd Armor Division, and Derek Dieter, the
organizer of the event.
Derek Dieter and Joe Hart are announcing that owner Andrew Berlin
has made a commitment to continue to support HONOR Flight and the
Silverhawks will be collecting donations every Saturday night for the rest of
the season in addition to July 2nd and 3rd.
Dieter stated there will be over 30,000 people coming to those games and
believes this community can raise over $20,000 to enable WWII Veterans to
fly to Washington DC to view the WWII Memorial.
Since the June 6"' event, 15 WWII veterans from South Bend have
signed up for the HONR FLIGHT.
