RE: Renewal of Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit
The Division of Wastewater Industrial Pretreatment Group recommends approving the renewal of the Industrial
Discharge Permit for Vestis Services, LLC formerly known as Aramark Uniform & Career Apparel, LLC at the July
14, 2026, Board of Public Works Meeting.
Vestis Services, LLC (Vestis) is classified as a Significant Industrial User (SIU) as defined in the South Bend
Municipal Code. Vestis’ requirements were reviewed for necessary changes to ensure the industry permit
remains legally substantiated. After reviewing the applicable requirements, historical data, pollutant limitations,
and monitoring frequencies, changes have been made to the permit. Specifically, the monitoring frequency for
Total Oil and Grease has been increased from a monthly requirement to a weekly requirement.
