Committee Chair Ophelia Gooden-Rodgers called to order the Community Relations Committee
meeting at 5:54 P.M.
Bill No. 26-04 -Resolution Appointing Sharon Banicki, Komonique Thomas, and George
Jones to Three-Year Terms as Members of the Community Police Review Board (Substitute)
Committee Vice Chair Karen L. White moved to accept Substitute Bill No. 26-04, which was
seconded by Committee Member Sheila Niezgodski and carried via a vote by voice.
Council President Canneth Lee, 1929 Huey Street, South Bend, IN 46619, presented the bill. He
said Komonique Thomas was reappointed as an At-Large Board Member after moving out of the
Second (2 nd) District, George Jones is replacing Komonique Thomas as the Second (2 nd) District

Board Member, and Sharon Banicki is replacing the Sixth (6th) District Board Member who
resigned.
Seeing no questions from the Committee, Committee Chair Gooden-Rodgers held the public
hearing, and nobody spoke.
Committee Member Niezgodski moved to send Substitute Bill No. 26-04 to the Full Council with
a favorable recommendation, which was seconded by Committee Member Sherry Bolden-
Simpson and carried by a vote of four (4) ayes.

With no further business, Committee Chair Gooden-Rodgers adjourned the Community Relations
