RE: Historic Designation for The Axtell House
Dear Members of the Council::
Karen R. Hammond-Nash, Director
Enclosed please find an Ordinance proposed for introduction before the Common Coun-
cil. The purpose is to designate the The Old Axtell House at 1021 Portage Avenue, South Bend,
a Local Historic Landmark.
The Historic Preservation Commission voted last year to recommend historic designa-
tion. The owners of the property, Don and Mrs. Eldrich, and Jason and Sarah Eldrich, also rec-
ommend historic designation, and would like to speak in support of the proposed ordinance
when it comes up for hearing.
Thank you for your kind consideration
Yours,
i
John H. Oxian,
