PURPOSE OF REQUEST:
This budget request is for $200,000 for the design of Ewing trail located on the south side of Ewing Ave
from Gertrude to Olive
SPECIFICS:
The budget request represents the first funding request toward the design of the New Ewing Trail, a
proposed 10-foot separated multi -use path that will connect the existing trail south of E. Ewing Avenue to
Olive Street.
The initial request is for $200,000, which will cover design services through Stage 1 Review, equivalent to
30% design plans. In addition to the trail design, the funding will support an engineering assessment of the
Ewing Avenue/Prairie Avenue intersection to help guide the City's selection of an appropriate intersection
improvement.
The project is INDOT funded, with 80% of the costs being reimbursed.
It is requested that the Redevelopment commission approves $200,000 from South Side TIF to cover the
design until the stage 1 review (30%).
