Demolition of 921 Louise Street (Qualex Building)
DATE: 06/10/2026 Change Order No. 1 for the subject project covers unforeseen buried slab removal. During the course of demolishing the structure and removing the floor slab at the southern third of the complex, Green Demolition uncovered a second buried slab encompassing approximately 20,000 square feet:
This added slab removal results in additional demolition and hauling away, along with additional fill material needed to make up the difference. Funding is available through a River East TIF allotment from the Redevelopment Commission.
