Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Council
Chambers of the County -City Building on Friday, February 26, 1982, at 4:00 p.m. The
meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given.
ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Szymkowiak, Beck, Taylor, Zielinski,
Dombrowski, Voorde and McGann
Absent: Council Members Serge and Crone
TO: MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL
SUBJECT: CALL FOR A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
The Council Members signing below are calling for a special meeting of the South Bend
Common Council to be held Friday, February 26, 1982, at 4:00 p.m., in the Council
Chambers on the Fourth Floor of the County -City Building. The purpose of this special
meeting is to have first reading and to set March 15, 1982 as the date for the 7
p.m., public hearing, second reading and vote as to the passage of ordinances en-
titled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING THE SALE OF BONDS OF
THE PARK DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INNDIANA APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF THREE
MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (3,500,000.00) TO BE APPLIED ON THE CON -
STRUCTION AND SITE DEVELOPMENT OF A WATER RELATED RACEWAY (EAST RACEWAY), CON-
STRUCT "ION -OF A WALKWAY WITH LIGHTING BENEATH THE WEST END OF THE JEFFERSON STREET
BRIDGE, A WALKWAY WITH LIGHTING IN PLAZA PARK AND HOWARD PARK, AND PURCHASE OF
LAND NECESSARY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND SITE DEVELOPMENT OF A WATER RELATED
RACEWAY (EAST RACEWAY) BY THE BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS OF THE PARK ,DISTRICT
OF THE CI`T'Y OF SOUTH BEND.

These bills had first reading. Council Member Dombrowski made a motion to set these
bills for public hearing and second reading March 15, seconded by Council Member
Beck. The motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Member Taylor
made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried and
the meeting was adjourned at 4:06 p.m.
