SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 8, 1981

SUBJECT: CALL FOR A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
The Council Members signing below are calling a special meeting of the South Bend Common
Council to be held Thursday, January 8, 1981, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the
Fourth Floor of the County -City Building. The purpose of this special meeting is to have
first reading and to set January 12, 1981 as the date for the public hearing, second read-
ing and vote as to the passage of an Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BONDS OF
SAID CITY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR VARIOUS
PURPOSES.

Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in a special meeting
in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Thursday, January 8, 1981, at 7:00 p.]
The meeting was called to order.
ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Szymkowiak, Beck, Taylor, Kopczynski,
Dombrowski, Voorde and McGann .
Absent: Council Members Serge and Crone
City Controller, Joseph Kernan, thanked the Council for having this special meeting. He
indicated they were filing with the Clerk and the Council, signed and verified petitions for
2,118 owners of real property subject to taxation by the City of South Bend, and an affidavi-
signed by the County Auditor.
BILL NO. 1 -81
A BILL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AUTHORIZING THE
ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE
FUNDS FOR VARIOUS PURPOSES.
This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for
public hearing and second reading January 12, 1981, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski.
The motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Member Taylor made a
motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried, and the
meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
