The cemeteries have been faced with old and run down equipment, thus causing
costly repairs and loss of time. Through the years, there never has been a
replacement program for new equipment. I feel with this approval in 1978
and the equipment budget for 1979, the bureau can start to alleviate this
problem.
Members of the Common Council October 4, 1978 Page 2
I have set up a replacement program in which a few pieces of equipment
will be purchased each year, thus eliminating large budget requests in
future years.
This transfer is needed for the efficient operation of the Bureau of
Cemeteries.
Sincerely,
Peter H. Mullen
