AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $46,700.00 FROM ACCOUNT
NO. 440.0, OTHER MATERIALS, TO ACCOUNT NO. 260.0,
OTHER CONTRACTUALS, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN
F.A. PROGRAM 159 OF THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT,
COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINIS-
TERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DE-
PARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that additional funds are needed by the Department of Public Works
to ensure the Department's ability to properly perform its functions; and
In that a surplus exists within account .440.0, Other Materials, of
F.A. Program 159,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The sum of $46,700.00 be transferred between various
accounts as set forth below:

Due to the nature of the attached transfer ordinance, and due
to our desire that all affected work be completed as expedi-

the rules and hold both first and second readings of this
ordinance on October 9, 1978.

RE: $46,700 Revenue Sharing Transfer
Dear Councilmen:
In the spring of this year,a sum of $395,000 was appropriated
from Revenue Sharing for use in the 1978 Street Program. Based
upon estimates made by this office, said monies were divided
between Account 260.0, Other Contractuals, and Account 440.0,
Other Materials.
In that we are nearing the end of the work season, this office
is now in a position to more accurately establish the exact
distribution of these funds required to complete the current pro-
gram. Based upon our findings, we hereby request that the sum
of $46,700 be transferred from Account 440.0, Other Materials, to
Account 260.0, Other Contractuals.
