ORDINANCE NO. 6458 -78
AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $50,000.00
FROM ACCOUNT 110.0, SALARIES AND WAGES, REGULAR,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000.00, AND ACCOUNT 120.0,
SALARIES AND WAGES, TEMPORARY, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$40,000.00, TO ACCOUNT 430.0, REPAIR PARTS, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $50,000.00, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING
WITHIN THE BUREAU OF STREETS BUDGET OF THE MOTOR
VEHICLE HIGHWAY FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In that certain extraordinary conditions have developed since
the adoption of the existing budget for the Bureau of Streets in the
Motor Vehicle Highway Fund, so that it is now necessary to ap-
propriate more money than was appropriated in the original budget
for the various functions of City Government to meet such extra-
ordinary conditions; and
In that additional funds are needed for an account within the
Bureau of Streets, in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund, to assure that
Department's ability to.properly perform its function; and
In that a surplus exists in other accounts of the Bureau of
Streets Budget, in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund, which is not pre-
sently needed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA:
SECTION I: That the Sum of $50,000.00 be transferred between
various accounts as set forth below:

Dear Councilmen:
The attached ordinance requests a transfer of $60,000 to the Equip-
ment Repair line item within the budget of the Bureau of Streets in
the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund.

This transfer ensures that sufficient funds will be available for the
maintenance and servicing of Street Department and Police Department
vehicles through the balance of 1978.
